Imani Erriu is the author of the romance fantasy series Heavenly Bodies. She is a graduate from the Manchester Metropolitan University where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature and Creative Writing. She spent most of her childhood in the forests of the English countryside, which definitely gifted her an overactive imagination. When she isn’t crying over her own fictional characters or daydreaming up her next plot twist, she can be found eating pasta and watching “The Office” on repeat.

What’s the strangest thing you searched for on the internet for your novel?
I have definitely googled some strange things. The weirdest had to be at the moment ‘who would win in a fight, a scorpion or a crab’.
What book (or author) made you fall in love with the romance genre?
I think it has to be Caraval by Stephanie Garber. It was the first book where I remember I was as fixated on the romance unfurling as I was the plot .
What is your favourite trope? Why?
My favourite trope both to write and to read is Forbidden Love. There is something so enticing about it, especially the way so much tension can rise between the characters as they try to fight against or deny their pull to one another.
It’s the morning after, and a lover is making your main character the perfect breakfast in bed. What is it?
Elara has a sweet tooth, so it would definitely be a vanilla pastry with some fresh blueberries and lavender syrup.
What book are you reading currently?
I’m currently reading Wrath of the Dragons by Olivia Rose Darling and would recommend it to ANYONE who loves fantasy romance with an intricate plot, deep worldbuilding and dragons!
