The Paris Chapter is a fun vacation romance set in the most romantic city in the world.
Favourite Quote:
I grabbed my suitcase and wheeled it with me towards the open bedroom door. I was just about to walk through when the sound of water abruptly finished and there was a click, and to my shock and horror, the door next to the bedroom opened and out walked a man wearing the skimpiest of white towels around the middle of his body, shaking his damp hair all over the wooden floor.
Book Synopsis:
Can the city of love mend a broken heart?
Romance author Tessa Elliot has writer’s block, and worse – she isn’t sure she still believes in love. To heal her broken heart, she decides to go on the romantic break in Paris she’d booked before her world fell apart.
But when she arrives at the Airbnb, Tessa is stunned to find someone is already there. Her ex’s best friend Ethan has made himself at home, being told that the place would be empty.
As it’s Paris Fashion Week, and with no other options, they agree to share the apartment. Neither will be in the place much after all, with Ethan taking a cookery course and Tessa on a hard deadline to finish her novel.
But sharing close nights in a one bed apartment, there’s an undeniable pull towards one another.
Will Tessa be able open her heart, and her laptop, ever again?
Review:
The Paris Chapter was enjoyable to read. I have always adored romances set in the city of Paris, and Victoria did a lovely job of bringing the City of Lights to life in her story. It was great getting to explore Paris with Tessa and Ethan. Exploring the city was a great way to have these two characters spend more time together. The overall story was interesting and had just the right amount of drama, romance, and food talk to keep me entertained. Because this is a vacation romance, things move pretty quickly between Tessa and Ethan, so if you are a fan of Insta Love, you’re going to enjoy this book. I liked the chemistry between these two, and it was fun watching as they tried to navigate the same one-bedroom flat with each other. They sort of have a history; Ethan is the best friend of Tessa’s boyfriend. That history added just the right amount of delicious tension between these two.
The Paris Chapter is a fun, delightful rom-com and a great read for anyone looking to escape the winter blues.
