What’s the strangest thing you searched for on the internet for your novel?
The strangest thing I searched for was probably also the most boring. There was a good chunk of research I did about OSHA violations and food safety in the kitchen. I’m talking scrolling through pages upon pages of regulations to make sure I was keeping things as accurate as possible … only to throw most of that research away because Knives is a romcom and I didn’t see the point in making things THAT serious. Is making out in the walk-in fridge a health violation? Yes. Do the main characters do it anyway? Also yes.

What book (or author) made you fall in love with the romance genre?
I honestly can’t remember which book/author made me fall in love with the genre, but I can say with 101% certainty that anything by Ali Hazelwood is an instant-buy for me. I’ve adored every single book she’s ever published. She’s definitely my go-to romance author.

What is your favourite trope? Why?
My favorite trope is probably enemies-to-lovers, but with the caveat that they’re TRUE enemies-to-lovers. I will never get enough of reading characters on opposite sides of a cause, and if they see each other it’s ON SIGHT. It makes for the perfect angsty romance that I crave (because I’m dead on the inside, and sometimes angst is exactly what I need to feel something).

It’s the morning after, and a lover is making your main character the perfect breakfast in bed. What is it?
This is actually a perfect question because it’s a scene in the book! Since Alexander and Eden are both chefs, you can imagine they can come up with some pretty mouth watering dishes for each other. (Eden doesn’t like eggs, though, but Alexander will have no problem getting creative.)

What book are you reading currently?
I’m currently reading Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. My friends keep telling me that it’s phenomenal–and I agree! I’m only a quarter of the way in, but I love how atmospheric Bardugo’s writing is. I can’t wait to see what happens next!
