Series Name: Vancouver Wolves Hockey, # 1

It might sound stupid, but as long as I never let my eye contact break with Max, I was immune to that horror. We refused to focus on our impending deaths. Instead, we focused on sex. With each other. It reminded me of flirting with a cute guy at the bar and the whole place disappears except him.

Puck Me Secretly is perfect for those bookworms who are looking for a quick and fun new hockey romance to sink into.

I’ve never been in love.
I’ve never had an orgasm, but I’ve faked plenty.
I want to experience love.  Real, passionate love.
I don’t want to die.

It’s funny what blurts out of your mouth when the plane you’re on is going down, and I didn’t hold back with my seat mate when my plane decided to crash.

My hysterical confessions didn’t faze the muscular stranger that sat beside me.  In fact, he promised if we survived, he’d give me my first orgasm.

We survived.
I came.
And then he left without telling me who he was.

On the first day of my job, I stood in front of the Vancouver Wolves hockey team and called out a number.  #33.
Imagine my shock when he skated forward.

Max is an incredible hockey player, whose wild, out-of-control antics have almost derailed his career.  So many secrets shroud his past and continue to threaten his future.
Now he’s my secret.  And that secret could ruin everything.

Puck Me SECRETLY.  Some secrets are too big to keep.

I found out about this series on Fated Mates. It’s where I have been getting many of my romance book recommendations lately. Sarah MacLean sold this series as the full bananas, and I knew I needed to get my hands on it. I was in a bit of a reading slump, and this book and the rest of the books in this series snapped me right out of that reading slump. First, I was so excited when I learned that Odette is a Canadian author and this series is set in Vancouver. I’m always happy to see Canadian authors shine and show off our fabulous country. This is a very easy and entertaining read. Puck Me Secretly may not be the most banana-pants-crazy book in this series, but it definitely has its moments. If you are new to Odette’s writing, be warned that a lot of what happens in this book would not happen in reality; it’s a bit bonkers at times. But that is what it is meant to be. This book isn’t meant to be some deep and meaningful story, it’s meant to be a fun, spicy, and entertaining romance romp. And I am happy to report that it succeeds at those three things beautifully. You have to shut off that analytical part of your brain when you read this book; if that’s something that you cannot do, then this book might not be for you.

Gosh, this book hooks you in right from the first chapter. Like, I mean, HOOKS you in. In the first chapter, there is a plane crash, and right before the plane crashes, the heroine, Rory, admits a man has never given her an orgasm, and the hero promises that if they live, he will give her one (what a gentleman). If that doesn’t leave you wanting to read more, I don’t know what will. Overall, it was a really enjoyable read. This book is solely told from Rory’s POV, which is the only single POV book in the series. I have mixed feelings about the single POV. Part of me liked that because it made Max this more mysterious character, and we were really left trying to figure out what was going on in that quiet, broody hockey player’s head. The other part of me was dying to know what he was thinking and was frustrated that I couldn’t find out. I definitely had some love/hate feelings about the POV. The story moves along at a pretty brisk pace, which means that you are not bored. There is a lot of drama happening in this story. You have the drama surrounding Rory’s new job on the team; there are some who think Rory only got the general manager position because her dad owns the team and that she has no place working so closely with hockey players. There is also drama around Max joining the Vancouver Wolves team. I devoured everything that was happening in this book.

Rory and Max were delicious together. The chemistry between these two was sizzling right from the moment they met on that plane. What made their relationship even more yummy was that there was a forbidden love element to it. Rory is Max’s boss in a way, and the two of them having a relationship would be frowned upon. Also, Rory’s parents have told her she should not have any physical or emotional relationship with Max because he isn’t right for her. I just couldn’t get enough of all those secret moments these two had with each other. It just scratched an itch I didn’t know that I had. This is one of Odette’s spicier books. There is a lot of sex and dirty talk in this story. Max may be a man of few words, but lord, he knows how to dirty talk. Besides all the lusty feelings and banging going on, these two have quite a few sweet and tender moments. I also love watching a heroine break down those walls a hero has built around his heart.

Puck Me Secretly is bursting with sensuality, banter, and sizzling.
