Series Name: Meet Me, # 3
He turned, and Zoe gasped.
That tingle became a shiver. Electric. Hot.
She blinked. Blinked again. No. It couldn’t be him. He looked so different. And yet… the eyes, so deeply, outrageously blue.
“Finn,” she said. Or maybe she’d merely mouthed the name; her heart was pounding so hard she couldn’t hear anything else and so didn’t know if she’d vocalized it.
Meet Me in Tahiti is another wonderful installment in the Meet Me series.
Zoe Tayler has spent her life doing battle: first fighting her parents for independence and then, after a car accident at eighteen, adjusting to the fact she would not walk again. She remained strong until the day Finn Doherty, the one person she thought she could trust, broke her heart. Now a successful travel writer, Zoe is excited to be reviewing a new luxury hotel for her blog in the beautiful South Pacific—until she meets its owner.
Finn was never good enough for Zoe. He knew it. Zoe’s family knew it. The village of Hawkes Cove made sure he knew it. And then he proved everyone right when he let her down in the worst way possible. Becoming a successful businessman has convinced Finn his past is behind him—until a journalist turns up to review his new resort.
Meeting again stirs up all the old feelings, and all the painful memories that pulled them apart, too. As Finn shows Zoe the exotic wonders of the islands, both face the fact their shared past might just be the beginning of a future. But only if Zoe can win the biggest battle of her life—facing up to her heart’s desire.
If you are looking for a book (and series) that is the perfect comfort read, then I would highly recommend giving this book (and series) a try. I loved the first two books in this series and could not wait to get my hands on Meet Me in Tahiti. For those new to the series, you can read each book as a stand-alone, but I would highly recommend reading the other books in this series because they are absolutely wonderful. This book focuses on Zoe’s story. Zoe is a travel writer and is determined to show the world that she can live her own life and be independent. First, I just have to gush about the setting. It really was the perfect setting for a romance novel. Georgia’s lush and vivid descriptions transported me to a breathtaking tropical island, and she had me wanting to pack my bags so I could soak up all the beauty and sun that this island had to offer. But alas, my bank account won’t allow me to travel that far, so I will just have to re-read this book to satisfy that travel itch.
This is another wonderfully paced book, and there is enough going on in the story to keep me entertained. This book switches between Zoe and Finn’s POV, which I enjoyed. Finn is Zoe’s first love interest, but nothing materialized romantically between them when they were teenagers. The romance in this book was beautifully written, and I devoured every moment that these two characters were together. If you are a fan of a second chance, pinning, and a hero who doesn’t think he is good enough for the heroine, then you will enjoy the love story between Zoe and Finn. What made this romance stand out was how Georgia shifted between past and present. We get to see various flashbacks from both Zoe and Finn’s POVs, which give us a deeper understanding of their characters and added this extra something to the romantic journey that unfolded on these pages.
Meet Me in Tahiti is a heartwarming, beautiful story about being brave and believing in second chances.
Thank you, Harlequin Trade Publishing, for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
