It was, hands down, the best kiss she’d ever experienced. So perfect, it had felt preordained. As if Finlay Jamieson had been put on this earth, on this farm, in that kilt, fort he express purpose of cupping her face in those incredible hands of his and showing her what a real kiss was meant to feel like.

Scotlander is a swoonastic fun romance romp that is sure to put you in a good mood.

When the Big C takes her best friend too soon, Willa Jenkins struggles to recapture the joy in her life, and all she wants is to get away from LA’s glitzy party circuit. But superfan Valentina had other plans. For her final, wickedly funny act, she’s packing her bestie off on a two-week Outlander-themed experience at Balcraigie Castle, Scotland.

Expecting a couple of weeks with Valentina’s hot brother Gabe, Willa gets more than she bargained for when she’s put to work doing actual, real-life farm work. Not only that, but to get the ‘full’ experience, she’s paired up with the irritating—and irritatingly sexy—Finn, with whom she will pose as fake husband and wife for the next two weeks.

Willa despairs of Valentina’s terrible trick. But then she makes a discovery. Finn’s family might just lose the castle if they can’t make the experience worthwhile for the other attendees. The stakes are high, but as the days pass and the fake marriage she signed up for starts to feel all too real, could Willa be in for a prize of a different kind…love?

This book was such a hoot. It was a perfect blend of humour and romance. If you are a fan of the Outlander book or television series, then you will love this book. It’s full of Outlander references, and the characters are on this Outlander-themed vacation. I love it when an author has created many quirky characters and then forces them to spend a lot of time together. It always means you will get a lot of fun, drama and laughs. The pacing of this book has this nice easy breezy feel to it. It’s easy to sink into this story and enjoy Willa and Finn’s journey. I loved all the characters in this book. They were fun, relatable, and had a surprising amount of depth. I enjoyed getting to spend time with them.

I thought there would be a love triangle between Willa, Gabe, and Finn in this story, but Sheila took her readers on a different romance journey, which I like. In the first few chapters, it looks like Gabe is going to be a love interest for Willa, but that isn’t the case. Without giving away any spoilers, he has his own love story that is so sweet, and I love it. The main romantic focus is between Willa and Finn. Their romance has this enemy to lovers/forced proximity to feel to it. I really enjoyed the banter between these two, and it was just on fire. I devoured the tension between Willa and Finn. It felt so addictive, and I wanted to find out what would happen next between these two.

Scotlander is fun and delightful, and I ate up every moment.
