‘Does it feel strange?’

‘What?’

‘This..’ I ran my thumb along his jawline distractedly, feeling the smooth skin beneath. His head turned so that his mouth was against my palm, his eyes holding mine and his lips placing the softest of kisses on the palm of my hand. I stood there, hooked on his gaze, a thousand fireworks shooting and fizzing through my body as I sucked in a deeper breath. His hand closed around mine, turning it gently and this time kissing the back of it.

You’ve Got This is another charming feel good romance by Maxine Morrey.

Fleur French does not have the best of luck when it comes to life and love, and her current boyfriend Jasper is yet another person who only seems to like Fleur when she moulds herself into his idea of the perfect partner. So, when she finds herself single, jobless and homeless, Fleur has to decide if she’s ready to finally be herself – if only she knew who that was.

Matt Morgan saw things he’ll never forget when he was deployed in the military, but now back home in Wales, the recuperative powers of the stunning countryside are working their magic.  And when Fleur takes a job at his mother’s hotel, Matt senses she could benefit from that same magic – if only Fleur realised it too.

It’s hard to be yourself, when you’ve never felt you quite fitted in. But with new days come new opportunities, and as Fleur begins to flourish and find out who she really is, her luck in love might be about to change too.

I adore Maxine’s books; they always leave me feeling oh-so-happy. You’ve Got This was another charming, sweet romance that I could not put down. I loved joining Fleur as she starts this journey of learning to find out who she truly is. At the beginning of this book, Fleur has hit rock bottom yet again. Her terrible boyfriend has just dumped her, then kicked her out of their flat and fired her from her job (he is also her boss). Fleur doesn’t know what she is going to do or where she is going to go. But fate has plans for her, and they come in the form of sweet and gorgeous Matt and his family, who offer Fleur a job at their hotel. Fleur, of course, takes the job and soon finds herself making new friends and learning to live her life on her own terms.

This story is full of laughter, love, friendship, and romance. I adored all of it. I ate up all the lush and vivid descriptions of Wales. It felt like I was there with Fleur and Matt as they hiked along all the different trails in the area. It reminded me of when I lived in England and went on various hiking day trips. The countryside over there is breathtaking. Matt was utterly charming and had my heart beating a little faster. I loved the way he treated Fleur. He was such a sweetheart, and I loved that calm, steady presence he offered Fleur. He was always there to support when she needed it.

The romance in this book is a delightful mix of friends to lovers and slow burn. Fleur and Matt become almost instant friends right from the beginning of the book. Watching these two hang out and have heartfelt conversations was so lovely. It really built this wonderful foundation for their future romantic relationship. Maxine did a great job with the slow-burn part of their relationship. There were so many moments in this book when I thought these two would finally kiss. I had to keep on reading because I wanted to see what would happen next between these two.

You’ve Got This is a delightful, charming romance and a perfect book for this spring.
