And then there’s A.J. He gives Miranda a very different sort of look: the up-and-down glance of a man who hears Don’t be inappropriate with the new girl and takes it as a challenge.
The No-Show is so freaking amazing, and I loved how different and unique this rom-com story was.

The No-Show is not your typical rom-com book. When I read the synopsis for this book, I thought it would be about a guy who was seeing three different women at the same time. I figured I would be reading a book full of lying, revenge, and heartbreak. Not necessarily all my favourite things to read about, but I love Beth’s writing, so I thought I would try it. All those preconceived ideas and even misgivings I had for this book couldn’t be more wrong. The No-Show is one of those books that prove you should never judge a book by its cover or, in this case, its synopsis. Now, I will give you a warning; I am going to be slightly vague in this review because I want you to be as surprised and as blown away as I was when I was reading this book.
We follow the story of three very different women Siobhan, Miranda, and Jane. This book is told from their POVs and follows their relationships with a man named Joseph Carter. Each “love story” is different and complex and will take its readers on an emotional roller-coaster ride. This book stood out for me because Beth successfully connected all these stories. Every detail, event, character is important in this book. They all serve some purpose in advancing the story along. It just blew my mind at how well Beth structured this book. I often said “no way” when reading it.
The characters are lovely, and they have so much depth. The three leading ladies all shined and stood out in their way. They were all very different, they lived different lifestyles, had very different personalities, and all had their own unique relationship with Joseph. It ensured that I didn’t get bored or feel like I was reading the same love story repeatedly. I loved the secondary characters; they added so much richness and fun to this story. I have to give a shout-out to Miranda’s sisters! They were fabulous and had me laughing every time they made an appearance. The character that surprised me the most was Joseph. I didn’t hate the man, which I thought I would. His character was more complex and likeable than I expected. There is more than meets the eye with this man.
There is plenty of romance in this book. Readers follow Joseph’s romantic relationships with Siobhan, Miranda, and Jane. As I said before, they are all very different, and their relationships will make you feel a whole wide range of emotions. Each love story has plenty of cute moments, spice, and heartbreak. Now I have to say my favourite romantic cute moments happened between Miranda and AJ. Lord, AJ is a man who had me swoony right from the first moment he appeared in the story. I could have read a book centred around these two and would have died and gone to romance heaven.
The No-Show is a must-read for any romance book fan.
