Series Name: A Court of Thorns and Roses # 4

“Never again would she be weak. Never again would she be at someone’s mercy.”

I have been waiting not so patiently for the next installment of the ACOTR series by Sarah J. Maas.

Court of Silver Flames focuses on Nesta Archeron, who has always been pricky, proud, quick to anger, and slow to forgive. Since the war, Nesta has struggled with finding her place in this new world and getting over the horrors of Hybern and the war. Nesta has learned to cope by blocking out her emotions and drinking excessively. Cassian is the one person who can also get a reaction out of her, and he seems to be constantly in Nesta’s orbit. A burning passion exists between these two that only grows stronger as they spend more time together.

The Human Queens have returned, threatening the fragile peace that has settled over the realms. Nesta and Cassian will have to face their haunting pasts and their inner demons to stop the treacherous Queens.

This book nearly destroyed me. I have been waiting for years to see where Nesta’s story would go, and Sarah did not disappoint. The character development in this book is out of this world. It was captivating and heartbreaking watching Nesta’s journey as she faces her inner demons and finds the courage to forgive herself. A lot of the issues that Nesta had to work through are problems that many of us have had or are currently dealing with. This made her story relatable and allowed readers to connect with Nesta. The friendships that Nesta makes are brilliant and almost stole the spotlight away from Cassian and Nesta’s relationship (almost). Every time I read a scene with Nesta, Gwyn, and Emerie, I would have a huge smile on my face. Being able to watch as their friendship grew was heartwarming.

Of course, the relationship between Cassian and Nesta was everything I expected it to be. The banter between these two was witty, heartwarming, and very steamy. I always have had a fondness for Cassian’s character, and this book only deepened my affection for the Illyrian warrior, especially since he stood by Nesta even at her darkest moments. There are plenty of steamy scenes between Cassian and Nesta in this book that should leave all the Nassian fans out there quite happy.

If you are looking for adult fantasy that has it all, then look no further than the Court of Silver Flames. But be warned, this book will leave you feeling hot and bothered and very satisfied.
